This year Rugby Expo is launching the Social and Community Rugby Event/Programme of the Year Award in partnership with Rhino Rugby.
The award is aimed at highlighting the work of individuals, clubs, charities and associations from around the world and the positive effects of projects and events that boost community engagement through rugby.
Entrants are required to submit a synopsis of the initiative (500 words max.) and any supporting material online by clicking here. Entries will close on Wednesday 18th November and the shortlist will be released before Rugby Expo 2015 opens its doors on 26-27 November.
The winner will then be announced during the grass roots-focused day two of Rugby Expo (Friday 27th November); the prize will be presented by Rhino Rugby CEO Reg Clark following a main stage conference session, which will bring together representatives from international community projects and events to share best practice and advice with the grass roots clubs in attendance.
Today's launch follows on from last week's announcement which confirmed more than 300 key decision makers from grass roots and community clubs have now registered to attend Rugby Expo 2015; a record number on previous years with four weeks still to go until the event.
Commenting on the Award and Rhino Rugby's involvement in this year's Rugby Expo, CEO Reg Clark, said: "We're delighted to be back at Rugby Expo for 2015 and to be supporting this year's community-focused second day of the event. We are involved in the sport at all levels worldwide and we are lucky enough to engage with many projects and events that deserve tremendous credit for their work in the community; by launching the award with Rugby Expo, we hope to raise awareness of the fantastic work that is being done in the sport and offer support and advice to the many clubs also working hard to emulate this success."
